Which one is better? The A630 seems to have better options for less money?

I would pick the A series camera hands down. I have an older 5MP A95 that I love, and the features on the A models give you much greater control over the photos than Canon`s other basic point and shoots. Basically, if you want to get more creative with your photos and like to have more control over the process, the A series has you covered. The SD models are nice of course, but they lack the customizable features of the A series, and honestly I think the A series take a slightly better image anyway. The SD models are really more for people who do not want to mess with any settings, but instead just want to snap a pic and be done with it. If you have more "photographer" in you, the A series is a no brainer. The swivel screens in the A series is the best too. I have really liked that feature in certain situations. Can`t get that anywhere else!

Another thing I really like about the A series models is that they take AA batteries instead of a custom Li-ion battery. If you are on vacation or out in the field taking shots and the camera dies, you can always find some cheap AAs, not so lucky finding a specific expensive Li-ion battery laying around and no way to charge the dead battery on the spot.

TigerMike makes great points. I have a A620 and many other`s also own the A series. If I`m not mistaken, I believe that the only main attraction of the SD630 is the small size and large LCD screen. I personally don`t mind a bigger size if it means more customizability (is that a word?) and better pictures.
