I`ve got a plastic dashboard, and there are some scratches in it where the CD player`s mounting brackets rubbed during an install. Is there any easy way to get these scratches out?

    Thanks in advance!

Not really. If the dash is textured there is not much you can really do. You could sand the area down a bit, but once again run into the problem of it not matching the rest of the dash.

If I were to do this (sand it down), it would probably at least look closer to the original dash than the scratches do. What would you recommend? Wet sanding with a fine-grit?

Yes, I would probably approach it with 3000 grit on a tight sanding block and just use the edge to minimize oversanding the area.

you can also try a heat gun and a piece of vinyl that is similarly textured to your dash. heat the dash panel a bit, then use the vinyl to "massage" the scratches down. not always effective, but i prefer to start there before sanding.

Cool, I`ll give this a shot first. I`ll probably do it this weekend and give before and after pics of both. (Or only of one, if one is effective)
