I believe the 98 sail panels were fine. It was the later ones that have the issue. Just like my 02 SS.

Thanks Ron. This is a car that I will enjoy cleaning/detailing more than driving. Driving a car with this low of miles makes me really have to plan out when, where, and how often I drive it. I probably should have looked at something with more miles, but that is really what drew me to this car. I wasn`t even looking to buy another car. Neither was the wife.
I do plan on bringing the Pontiac to some shows, just can`t travel too far from home.

Honestly, I wouldn`t worry one bit about the mileage. I wouldn`t give it a second thought. If it had 10 miles on it - maybe. But this isn`t that type of situation at all. My `01 WS-6 had about 8,500 miles on the clock when I bought it in 2012. It`s got 15K now and the only reason I even know that is because I looked at the odometer last night. Have fun w the car and DRIVE it. It will still be a low mileage car at the end of the day.
I drove myself crazy w my last car. A totally restored `68 Camaro convertible. I had to worry about where I drove it, where I was driving it to, how long it would be in the sun, would I be going on the highway, if it was going to rain that day, would anyone be parking next to me....etc etc etc. It just became more of a burden that anything else. It got so bad that the last year I had it - it came out of the garage twice. For two car shows. And sure - I won trophies at both shows - but who cares. I couldn`t even tell you where those trophies are now. I`ve had SO much more fun w the T/A. And isn`t that why we got into cars in the first place?
You`ll obviously be taking care of it (or you wouldn`t be on Autopia). So forget the mileage and make it a fun car - not something else in life you have to worry about. We ALL have way more than enough of that sort of stuff...

Its gone I thought about removing the mud flaps too, but don`t want holes in the fenders and rear bumper cover.
I had a late night polishing session on tuesday and sealed it with BFWD. I tried taking indoor photos yesterday but didn`t get very good results. Temperature was 30 degrees and spitting snow. WTH
I will post some photos next week when temperatures allow.
The flaps will keep the paint unchipped behind it.
