Does anyone have any surefire products for painting bare aluminum surfaces? Something that primes the surface so the paint sticks without peeling away? Maybe something available to the general public that doesn`t cost an arm and leg?

I just have some small parts to paint. Would gun blue work? How about lightly sand blasting the surface?
