Front to back or side to side?

Hey everyone I`m new here :dance and I just wanted to know which way to wipe your bumper. Should you wipe up and down or side to side? Also, I didn`t know where to put this but does it bring anyone else a smile to their face when they drive by a hand car wash facility, only to see beautiful cars being devoid of proper care with the Karate-Kid style wax-on wax-off wiping and drying techniques? I`m not claiming to be a professional detailer, since all I use is NXT wax and QD on my paint and 303 for the interior but can anyone else say Welcome to Swirl City?

As long as you`re using products and applicators/towels that don`t mar the surface, it won`t matter what direction you do anything in. I just do whatever feels comfortable and seems easiest.
