HELP I messed it up :-/

Hey, I messed up my Range Rover 4.6HSE. It`s black and tonight I tried buffing and waxing it

the steps I used

1. Washed vehicle with Mothers car wash soap

2. Buffed the hood using 3M Rubbing compond

3. applied Mequires swirl 2.0 (i think thats the product)

4. applied Car show wax

After doing all this looking at my car it is now hazy where i`ve done this ! What did I do wrong?

Without any pic`s or details on how this was done (machine/pad combo) I`m going to go out on a limb and suggest that the haze is from the most aggressive product you used.

In this case the 3M Rubbing Compound.

Try this

mix up some water and Isopropyl alcohol (50/50) in a spray bottle and wipe a small section of the area in question down.

If the haze is still there you will need to follow the 3M Rubbing compound with a different polish than the Mequires swirl 2.0.

I dont have any Alchol, do you think using a clay bar would work??

Yeah, I`ve got `some` experience, just not a lot.... it`s my rover, if i mess it up I have to pay the consequences... parents all drive brandy new cars, my 1998 Range rover is the car to test it on i guess..... i didnt have an issue with buffing, just having problems with the end result

Don`t worry about it, everyone has to start some place. Worst case is you drive around with a car that less than 5% of the popluation will notice something wrong with it or even care.

You could try the clay, the end game here is to remove the wax.

Everyone here (of which I`m not one) + thier dog`s strip wax with dish soap (read Dawn or the like).

If you have no Alcohol and don`t want to run out and get some try that.
