Maybe wash with Z7 after AIO to get most out of Z2. Don`t have to wash after clay if your going to polish, just make sure area is dried good. What version of Z2 do you have, Pro? And also do you have ZFX? Don`t use Z8 between coats, it is better as a topper and maintenance only, do you have z6?

Ready, heres my advice, save the old z2/z1 for a friends car, or wheels/windows. Wait on the Pro, you WILL be amazed. You are putting a lot of effort into this, you deserve the best result. Most of the time it`s about process, but the Z2Pro is such an improvement it is worth waiting on if it`s on the way. If you are in a hurry, do everything above but only put one coat of Z5 and wait for your order, just wash your car and proceed with a couple coats of Pro/ZFX.

wash z7 (Z7 is kind fo expensive per ounce basis, but if its the only wash you have, than there is probably nothing else you can use)

clay (using a QD for lube correct? just make sure you remove all residue from claying)

z7 (no need for this since you are polishing)

by PC and remove by hand (I recommend a 50/50 combination of IPA (rubbing alcohol) (usually 70% concentration, just mix the right ratio to get 50/50) and water on the finish, I basically mix it up in a spray bottle and spray onto a polished finish and remove with a MF, this gets the surface free of polishing oils and fillers and checks to see if you fully removed the paint defects.)

3MPI-111 RC LC orange (from my understanding, this stuff is pretty strong, hence RC, might need something in between this and SMR, 3M PI III machine glaze might work, really depends on how much hazing you have)

3m-SMR for dark cars- LC white

AIO- LC white (I personally don`t like to mix Klasse/Zaino, I keep each one on their own Klasse AIO/SG or Klasse AIO/wax, and Z by itself.)

Prior to a non-Zaino`d but properly polished surface, I like to wash with blue dawn. Dry it, then add either Z1/Z2 or Z5, or multiple coats of Z with ZFX.

    z2 LC red

    z5 LC red

    z2 LC red

Z8 can be used between coats, but as Burlyq states, it is primarily a maintaince/topper product. It is also 2X as expensive as Z6.

I would also wait for the Z2 Pro and ZFX as Burlyq states.

This doesn`t stop you from polishing out your car and putting on a coat of Z1/Z5, then Z-6 or Z8 though. Once the Z2 Pro comes, you can mix it up with ZFX and add on 3 coats after a Z7 wash.

    Have fun!

Is there a need for 3m SMR if I use 3M PI III machine glaze ?

Depends on which pad you use for the Machine Glaze, how the finish polishes out with it, in some cases SMR may have to be used in others in might not. Accumulator is probably someone you want to ask because he should be called the 3M resident specialist.

I would think you would apply the Z5 as the base coats then put the Z2 on top of it.
