    I tried searching but came up empty. Several years ago I read an article regarding how washing a car, especially a dark one in direct sunlight can cause failure in the clear coat. If I remember correctly, it would show as cracks or webbing. From what I remember the reason given was that the contrast in temperature from the paint`s surface and the water was so extreme.



    Has anyone heard of this? I find it hard to believe but every time I wash the car a little voice tells me to wait until the sun goes down.
