Forgive me if this has been asked before, I tried searching but I don`t think I utilized it properly, I ended up sifting through countless posts with no avail. Anyways, I`ve been told that layering a coat of carnauba over Z2 or Z5 will simply strip the Zaino. The guy who told me this is EXTREMELY pro-Zaino and completely biased towards anything else. In fact, his exact words were "don`t layer any carnauba wax over Zaino, in fact, that sh** will strip it off Z2." Is there any truth to this?

A pure carnauba will not strip anything, let alone Z2/Z5.

Once Z2/Z5 is bonded to the paint (if you applied it properly), it won`t come off that easily.

Just stay away from cleaner waxes. Souveran, Natty`s, #16 to name a few are all safe to use over Zaino. Whether or not you`ll like the look is another matter, but you certainly won`t be compromising the durability/protection of Zaino.

I`d say that you will probably *strip* more off when you wash your car. Do what Mad iX suggested and you`ll be fine.

By the way, this applies to most all sealants, not just Zaino.

Thanks for the quick replies. I asked specifically about Zaino because thats what I have used in the past.

Mad iX- You said "Whether or not you`ll like the look is another matter..." Is that simply because all combinations are simply a matter of preference, or do most people not prefer the look of wax over Zaino?

BTW, a friend gave me a jar of P21S, so I was considering giving that a try, thats why I asked the question. Thanks.

Your paint type and color are important factors as to how it will look but in the end it really is just preference.

If I were after durability and reflectivity then Zaino it is. Otherwise it`s Carnauba for depth and wetness, although a few layers of Z2Pro will have very nice depth.

    DO IT!

I just topped the Zaino on my car with a coat of P21S and it has never had so much depth and looked so wet. I was VERY impressed with this combo....it looks great!

Actually, Sal has developed a topper for his polishes that creates the same effect as a carnuaba topper that is completely compatible with his system - Z8. You might want to give this a try after using the "free" P21S. :xyxthumbs
