Can you use tire dressing on trim and rubber molding?

I tried it. it worked much better than mother back to black and lasted a pretty long time. I wonder would it do any harm to the rubber molding or the trim.

Most tyre dressings should be OK on trim, and vice versa.



The only possible negative is that some tyre dressings remain oily and it would feel awful on trim.



BTW, B2B is more of a trim restorer rather than a dedicated protectant...its not designed for durability. A bit like AIO compared to SG.

It`ll depend on the type of dressing. I use EO Wet on my tires (oily/greazzy feel), but would not use it for rubber trim. 303 is the only thing I use on my trim...more of a matte finish. Not quite a true tire dressing, but people do use it for tires.



I agree with the B2B comment in that it`s geared to restore. I`ve also seen it run like a river on my friends truck. Of course, he uses too much though.

I`ve used Z-16 that way and it worked fine. I don`t see any potential for trouble except the "running down the paint in the rain" issue.

I understand the only difference between Autoglym vinyl protectant and the tyre version is that they smell differently - both a good products

I`m not sure whether this is different between the two, but I like the fact that AG Tyre Dressing can be applied on wet tyres after a car wash. :up



On the down side, it`s durability is poor compared to others I use.

I don`t see why not, I usually use tire dressing on hood details. Just remember - if its white, its good for trim. If its clear, and not a dedicated trim product (PB`s TR comes to mind), avoid it.

Wolfgang black diamond works a treat on most exterior trim and rubber seals. Given a few hours to cure, a couple layers will provide a beautiful finish.

I have both the old and brand new detailers pride line and will begin testing the tire gels on vinyl, leather, seals and much more

Hopefully it will be successful.

Yes, and a good example of that is EO Wet tire shine; it looks wet on tires (and slings like mad), but it runs (and doesn`t last) on trim. Conversely, Z1 Teifenpfleger works and lasts nicely on trim, and also works well on tires.
