I am picking up my 05.5 Jetta tonight, black on black. The dealer has already prepped the car, much to my anger. Anyway, I am planning on detailing it this weekend, and have the following at my disposal....

    3M SMR

    1Z PP, MP

    VM

    RMG

    EX-P

I am thinking either PP or SMR, followed by MP, RMG, and some EX-P. I know EX-P may not be the best for black, but I think it will look ok for the time being. Any other suggestions for Black are much appreciated, though I know EX looks good over it as well!

    Thanks,

    Brett

I plan on getting RMG and EX-P for my red jetta,I seem to remeber reading that EX-P looks very good on dark cars . SMR is not very strong and I have not found it effective by hand(you do not state if your using a PC etc..). The SMR VM and RMG might be overkill too.

I have read Wolfgang HGSG looks great on black, doesn`t have quite the durability of the Klasse twins though. I used it on my yellow M3 and it turned out great.

i guess it will all depend on whether the dealer gave you any swirls free of charge. don`t forget to clay. if the car is swirl free, maybe try VM, RMG, and EX-P. the VM has some cleaners in it and can be used to clean the paint a little. the RMG is more of a pure glaze and will give a nice wet look. and the EX-P might even look good over the VM+RMG.

The EX-P will give a nice reflective look. If that`s what you`re looking for, you will be very satidfied IMO. If you`re looking for the Nuba` look, well, you might want to try something else.

I can trade you 2 oz of Ex for 2 oz of EX-P. I want to try the EX-P on my black. Just throwing it out there!
