Ok, all the talk about foam has got me curious about maybe trying Bill D`s and Accumulator`s foam gun washing technique. It seems very different from the traditional 2 bucket technique and it seems like it might have some advantages. I see little snippets here and there of the technique but still don`t have a good idea overall how you guys do it.

So, anyone out there indulgent enough to make a write-up?

maecrispy- Hope you found what you needed in that post. The foamgun stuff is sorta buried in with all the rest of it. If there`s anything I can clarify, please ask about it. Sometime I should probably write up a "foamgun wash guide" with no extraneous stuff in it.

I gather from Bill D that my "mitt balloon" method (besides being a royal PIA) doesn`t work unless you have boosted water pressure like I do.

All in a nutshell: when washing, think "dislodge and flush" rather than "wipe"

Yeah, I tried and tried but can`t create the "mitt balloon". That certainly doesn`t take away from the technique in any way. This technique is by far the very best I ever came across in all of my extensive studies of the subject of detailing :2thumbs:

Yeah, the foam-gun part of it is kind of buried but the technique you describe sounds great. I can`t wait to get home and try it!

I actually have pretty low pressure so the mitt balooning isn`t going to work for me but the basics of the technique can be easily adapted for foam gun use, I`m sure.

It`s definitely extra work but if it works... Too bad my dailiy driver hides marring and swirls so well. I`ll have to give my buddy`s black TSX some free washes.
