car show wow factor

i have a car show coming up in 3 weeks time and im after something that i can put on top of p21s that will give me the shiniest wow factor shine possibe. Durabilty isnt required, just a downright gobsmacking shine. (i`ll be redoing the wax stage after the show).

What should i use?

Have always used the same process all year round and not changed anything for a show. Combos have always used a glaze to get the best look out off the paint, weather it be Meguiars Show Car Glaze, Hand Polish, or Vannilla Moose.

Until I found this place for show and shine events I always used the AG twins topped with a carnuba. Its goes back to the age old prep is important thing.

More recent car show combos for me last year wheer VM, EX and either P21s, CMW or Nattys. The year previous to that was #7 and P21s, or Blitz and #26.

With some off the sealants out there now giving such great looks you may aswell include them in the mix. A good Glaze and a Carnuba are the main ingredients IMO, following a damn good prep.

#7 and #26 a few years ago.

AG Srp and Eg even longer ago.

Last year on the show show scene, VM, EX, and a carnuba

That 306 you had was stunning. At 2003 french car show (it was at a stately home in the midlands) your car looked jaw dropping, like it was soaking wet. Thats what im trying to acheive.

That would have been Megs #7 or Hand polish, maybe VM, cant remember how long I have had it with a Carnuba on top, P21s I expect back then.

Last year was much the same, but I threw Ex or Ex-p in after the Glaze.

show car glaze works tremendously for me, maybe some nattys on top. Dripping wet!

Thats the stuff. One Grand is a more heavy type glaze than stuff like VM. It does not so much hide swirls as buries them under fillers.

The OG Do-it-all protectant is also very good but has a horrible smell.

A glaze followed by a carnauba wax is the way to go for that "show car" look. Dark cars respond very well to this combination, and I even use it on my daily drivers as I love the look so much.

i`ve actually read somewhere that a lot of the show cars you see out there never apply wax to the paint. however, if it`s going to be outdoors, better to protect it with a sealant or wax.

Please educate me on this point... what should be applied ? A glaze first? Then wax?

I`m partial to Mezerna finishing touch glaze, followed by a few layers of wax. However, really any good glaze (3M, VM, #7, whatevers handy followed by layers of a non-cleaner wax (P21S is more than sufficient) should produce a pretty deep look. It did wonders on my GTP, hiding all the scratches and swirls whenever the car was in relatively soft lighting. Still looked like hell under bright lights, sadly. I never put her in any shows, but I got more than a few comments in local parking lots.
