    Hello all, new guy here.

I`ve got a black 2004 Mustang GT, and am cursing the decision to buy a black car, however nothing looks better cleaned and waxed, though.

I`m new to the detailing work, but from some reading, I bought some NXT to start with.

I used the deep crystal polish first, then the NXT. I`d like to top that with something, but I`m not sure what waxes out there are cleaner-free and compatible with the NXT coat.

So let`s hear what will get along with NXT as a LSP. How about something like #16 or #26?

    Thanks!

#16, S100, #26 and Collinte 845-the collinite has a glossy look and IMO the s100 has a softer look-never used 16 or 26-also Mothers pure carnauba paste

Those will work along with many others including Poorboy`s Natty`s wax, but for the ultimate (but a bit expensive) look on black you may want to try Souverän:

    Keith,

Personally, I would not top NXT.

Rather than using another product to top it, I would just apply additional coats of NXT about once a month. That will keep your black car looking good by giving you more consistant coverage, while providing plenty of protection between re-applications.

Frank makes a good suggestion, NXT looks pretty darn good on its own. However, if you feel you must top NXT, #16 seems to work the best because it doesn`t really change the NXT look, it just adds some additional `wetness` to it.

I agree with Scott. If you`re not going to re-apply NXT every month or so, then I would also go with the #16 as it does add a measure of wetness, especially with black paint.

Wow, lots of good help. Thanks guys.

There`s something to be said about the relaxation in working on the car. A coat of NXT every month wouldn`t be a big deal to do.

As I get more into the hobby, I`ll be trying more combinations of different products. Thanks again!

    Agreed!

S100 is very reflective and looks great on black.

the NXT boster wax works well if sprayed on a microfiber and wiped on the car-let haze-and wipe off-easy and nice gloss-some have had streaking issues in colder weather tho

I applied two coats of NXT on a metallic smoke E320 and then topped it with a coat of 3M Show Car Paste Wax. It actually made the color a little darker. I liked the look a lot, but that`s just me.
