I recently bought a Porter Cable 7336 for polishing and waxing my cars, but before I knew better, I used one of those cheap 10" orbital buffers you can get for about $20 at Walmart. I`m sure the PC is superior to the orbital buffer, but I was wondering if I can still use the orbital for anything. Hate to have anything I own collect dust and go to waste!

I own a 10" Waxmaster (barely used for years even before I got my PC and rotary).

loaned it to a friend and so far I`ve been lucky, he hasn`t tried to give it back.

Wax your fridge, shower, washer, and dryer. I just bought a PC and can tell you I probably gonna ship out my old Waxmaster to my brother in law.

It`s not that the Waxmaster is absolutely useless; it`s just that I have no use for it and it`s not worth the space it would take up in my garage.

IMHO the pad size is too big for doing cars. If I was doing planes, trains, boats or RVs, things with big flat surfaces, I might want a large pad size.

As a low powered consumer unit it isn`t really useful for "working" any product. It`s limited to "spreading stuff around". You could use it for wax or glaze but not any kind of cleaner or cutting polish.

Since it doesn`t have hook&loop pads you`re stuck with only using bonnets for everything. You have to hunt to find good bonnets for it.

I have a 10" waxmaster also with a bunch of terry bonnets, sometimes when im feeling lazy i use it to remove light coats of wax/polish etc. It doesent work too bad but i still have to go over it with a microfiber when im done:up

I suppose I could try and give it away too. I have to say, though, it is a lot easier to clean the terry bonnets as opposed to cleaning the pads. Maybe I`ll just keep it to wax my wife`s car.
