OK I have tried and tried for a couple days now and I just can`t seem to figure it out. I finally figured out how to shrink my pictures and post them on my gallery. Now how do I attach them to a post. I have tried using the IMG button and pasting the address but it only shows a box where the picture is supposed to be. I have tried attaching the file but that does not work also. Can someone please help me step by step figure this out because I am very frustrated. Grrrrrrrrrrrr....

I love Autopia.org by the way!

    Thank you.

To post a picture, you use the IMG tags like you described. Use them in this fashion...

    [IMG]http://www.WhereverYourPicsAreLocated.com/YourPicName[/IMG.]

for example...to post a pic of my car from my cardomain.com page, I would do this...

    [IMG]http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/6/web/270000-270999/270673_105_full.jpg[/IMG.]

The picture doesn`t work because I put the period in the end IMG tag. Without the period, it would show up in the thread.

But don`t put that period in the last IMG tag. It is there only so that it does not try to post a picture.

You can send me a PM if you still can`t get it to work. I`ll see if I can get it to work for you.

    1) go to the page in your gallery

    2) right click the image and select properties

    3) highlight the Address URL and hit Ctrl+C on the keyboard to copy it

    4) go to your post type the [ IMG ] [ /IMG ] tags and paste your link in there.

    example:

    [ IMG ]http://autopia.org/gallery/data/500/20590img_2383.jpg[ /IMG ]

just take the spaces out and you get this!!!

    Looks nice btw

EDIT: White95Max, you beat me by mere seconds! Lol. I hit preview reply, I didnt see your post in the list, then hit Post and bam, yours was there. lol. I think the big mistake a lot of people have is with what I labeled as steps 2 and 3

    Try this.

    Go to your gallery

open the picture that you want to post

right click on the picture itself

when the box opens up choose PROPERTIES

    now this is important

in the properties box there is an address box

copy the address from the properties box

then paste that address into the IMG box on your post.

Hope fully this is helpfu to you.

Welcome to Autopia by the way.
    Insert witty quip here...

Yes! Finally. Why are my pictures smaller than the picture that dcswd posted earlier? How can I make them bigger?

Did you resize them before posting them?

When I take pics with my digital camera, the pics are automatically sized to 1600x1600.

I resize mine to 800x800 before posting them, which brings them to this size...

How do you resize them after they are in my gallery?

When I uploaded them to the gallery, it said the maximum was 400 x 300.

Yeah I use http://www.photobucket.com for picture hosting. They allow 800x800 there.

You can compress/resize pics with XAT Image Optimizer from http://www.xat.com

They have a free 30-day trial version you can download.

    Image Resizer

This PowerToy enables you to resize one or many image files with a right-click.

That says nothing about compressing files. I want something that can compress files to allow them to upload faster, and allow people to view my images faster.

I think you used the location of the thumbnail rather than the medium sized image. I checked the properties of your images (right click, look at "properties"); yep! Click on the thumbnail to bring up a medium-sized image; click on the medium image to get a full-sized image.

I took the word "thumb" out of the "location", and substituted "medium"; let`s see what happens...

    Nothing! I`m so smart!

    It`s "med", not "medium".
