a friend visited over the weekend, coming around in a neglected old 1983 ford. Me only slightly obsessed with detailing -- became curious on how I could make it look.

He didn`t think it was worth me using products worth 1/5th the value of the car on it!!! - I agreed! So I just did a 1/4 panel with a full wash/clay/cleaner/polish/wax.

All I can say is wow AIO is good! It cut through so much crap in very small doses! After seeing the results, he was so impressed he was inspired to start scrubbing and talked me into using the products for the rest of the car!

Great recovery. Looks like you will be buying that 3 liter jug of AIO now!

GREAT transformation!! Was the AIO the "cleaner/polish/wax" that you mentioned, or did you have some other products used?

    Thanks guys!

I started off with a wash...but it didn`t do much there seemed to be a heavy layer of rust/filth/oxidation - call it what you will - on the paint. A bit of AIO and vigerous scrubbing cut right through it - it was amazing! It also left the car with a shine it probably hasn`t had for over 20 years!

For *my* 1/4 panel I also used some Z18 Claybar, a touch of #80. For the rest of the car he just used AIO and then I let him loose on my `no longer used on my car` section of products and he used mainly Bowdens Own wax as a topper.
