new TL, meguiars questions

neighbor just took delivery of a 05 TL, silver..for first coat I was planning on just putting a layer of NXT on but it was sugessted that maybe a coat of cleaner/wax would be best beforehand.

do i go cleaner/wax or just a coat of nxt??

Personally, I would clay the car first, then apply the NXT. While cleaner/wax does have its place (somewhere...) in detailing, I`m not convinced that it is on an `05 vehicle.

Agree with ntwrkguy1. Check for dealer induced swirls and proceed accordingly.

Before I put on a sealant or wax I would clay the car. Even new cars pick up a lot of contaminants during transport and on the lot. These won`t come off just from washing and you`ll just seal them in if they`re not removed. This link to one of the learn articles here on autopia explains it better than I can. Then I would go with a sealant or wax.
