now i need help on what pads/backing plate to get....deciding on either Sonus pads or LC pads......also what type of solution should i get for the LGCM......

You really can`t go wrong with either the Sonus or the LC pads, and if you get the kit it comes with the correct backing plate (5"):

With either kit you may want to buy an extra polish pad or two and maybe an extra finish pad depending on how many LSP`s you plan to apply with the PC.
