    This is interesting...

    http://www.psx1001.com/ (retail $76/gallon)

    This one sounds very familiar...

There are many, many more. There seems to be one for any application. The information with regard to their properties and ingredients are usually much more generous than that provided by the (relatively secretive) auto paint sealant manufacturers, or distributors, or repackagers.

*As long as a reasonable solvent is effective for complete removal*, I think this is a richer field for anyone trying to figure out what kind of sealant to use. In fact, while one must search the Internet in some cases for a straight answer with regard to removal solvents for the usual auto paint sealants, these commercial products tell you unambiguously.

Here are some links to hobbyist modelers discussing the use of Future acrylic floor finish as a paint or protectant on their models.

Future won`t work. (water absorption, resistance to detergents)

My research along these lines has been impractical and too time consuming. I was looking for more than is reasonable to expect from a very thin coat of polymer. I intend to trust one of the sealants I already bought, either NXT or Klasse, and move on. I suspect that they have found some of the best materials for this application.

    End.

    I chose NXT.

Although I chose not to use any kind of "industrial coating" on the exterior paint, I might still use something inside the bed, for example, "Line X". This is an extremely durable (permanent) epoxy/urethane paint/sealant.

For Autopia, I have this: Coatings such as "Line X" can be applied to places like door sills and bumpers, where some foot traffic is expected. It can serve as a non-slip coating on things like bumpers or nerf bars. It might serve on the undercarriage too.

    End.
