My neighbor bought a brand spanking new Black Durango with 7 miles on it, and it has a spider web that spidey himself would be impressed by. I have had two black trucks and a black turbo mustang and I tell you there`s nothing as beautiful as black. You can get swirls out with polishing but the trick is keeping them out. Never let anyone wash your car and learn the tricks to wash w/o making swirls. My trick is when you get that bad dust layer baked in on the hood, spray a mixure of simple green and water and let it sit in the shade, then put more of the mixture on before hosing off, then wash your car. It`s a neat trick, many people use other techniques but that has always worked for me.

IMO even most *light colored* vehicles show marring under certain conditions. Doesn`t mean it has to be that way though. Marring is *not* inevitable, just takes the right techniques, equipment, facilities, etc.
