I own a 2001 Mustang GT. I`m 20 years old. I work and go to school. But in my spare time i detail cars. So far i have done pretty good at detailing others cars. I have some before and afters if you would like to see them. But thats not what this is about. My car is a metalic green. It`s actually a rare color. Of all the mustangs produced in 2001 only 1.3% were this color. I think it looks good with the NXT applied but it still has some swirls and minor water spots. I wanted to know if DACP would take out the swirls and water spots? I will show a picture of what products i have. I`m thinking about #16, P21s or souveran to top the NXT. Would this make the metal flakes stand out more of give the paint a wetter look? I dont drive it much so it stays in the garage all the time. I love to wax it so that doesnt matter either. Thanks for any help, i have gained a ton of information from this website and i look foward to reading all of the topics in the forums. a BIG THANKS once again. Justin.

PS. I would also like to know how i should apply all of the products. What speed, what directions to go, how fast i should move the PC, What pads?

    Nice ride

Yes, DACP will take out pretty much all swirls and water spots used correctly with a PC...Check out www.bettercarcare.com for more info on using the PC.

As far as making it stand out, after polishing, go with Clearkote`s Vanilla Moose Hand Glaze, then Poorboy`s EX-P Sealant x 2 (24 hrs apart), then top it off with some S100. This will provide a very wet, reflective look that allows the metallic flakes really stand out.

    Good Luck.

    justin,

whoa, nice stang. to me, the flakes stand out quite well. :xyxthumbs

but, to deal with the swirls and waterspots, have you thought of trying #80 speed glaze? it is a little less aggressive than DACP, but it works quite well with a cutting pad, speed about 5 or 6, work it until it is clear, and the swirls should be taken care of. for the water spots, maybe the same technique but it might take longer. if you use DACP, are you going to follow up with a milder polish in the event there is hazing left?

as for a wax topper, i think what GSRstillez suggested would be a good way to go. or you could do the NXT + S100/P21S route too.

and to make your stang stick out, i think a mach1 chin spoiler is needed plus a little drop in ride height would be nice touches.

good luck and have fun. :wavey

Here`s a Mustang I did for my dad earlier this summer.

The products I used are listed in there as well.

I ended up going back later and using SSR 2.5 (SSR 3 in some spots) and following it up with Tropi-Care Swirl Cutter and reapplying the LSP because I wasn`t happy with the hands on results. The photos look good but up close there was some waterspotting that only showed up under flourescent lighting and some scratches in various places.
