To protect the dash, i like to use 303 aerospace protectant, and as for leather, i like to use the hi-temp leather cleaner and conditioner available from www.topoftheline.com, they have some really great products, and the leather clener is very very nice!

Agreed, 303 Protectant for all plastic and vinyl. Zaino leather conditioner or something similar for seats.

Do detail shops actually use protectant on their customers cars? Does it enhance their look at all? I would think they wouldn`t use it because it doesn`t help their cause at all.

Also if you extracting the carpets, do you use the woolite after you vacuum, then woolite, then extract?

rookie, Most detail shops do use a dressing on vinyl, etc. They don`t use stuff like 303 Aerospace though.

I`ve never used woolite. Does it create a lot of foam? If it does, then you don`t want to use it in a carpet extractor. If the foam gets too much, then it can such into the vacuum motor and over time cause problems. That`s why the sell defoaming power and special extractor soaps that don`t foam.

Don`t most people use a mix of 16:1 in an extractor?

I don`t think he was referring to an extractor.
