    what`s the difference?

in this case, I need to clean the rear window of our `92 900.

It has the window heating/defrosting traces (I don`t think they`re embedded) on top. Little smudges have developed on either side of the traces that won`t come off with glass cleaner.

    suggestions?

If they won`t come off with glass cleaner and a MF, maybe they`re more than smudges. They might be from whatever`s bonding the defogger element to the glass (as you suspect it`s not embedded *in* the glass).

I`d rather live with imperfectly cleaned glass than open a can of worms with the element, so I think all I`d try is using different glass cleaners and scrubbing a bit more aggressively with an appropriate MF.

    How about clay?
Treat it like it`s the only one in the world.
