Haven`t tried the Flitz ball yet but I have another suggestion for ya, mothers billet polish with the 2"-3" face buffs at eastwood.com and a cordless drill, awesome results. Eastwood has a wide variety of polishing buffs that work great.

Are the polishing buffs washable? The black residue would wear one out in one use.

Flitz is superb for polishing metal. I actually use it on my stereo contact connections but have not tried it on alloys. I worry it may be too strong.

Actually the blacker they get the better it works, i`ve used the same 3" mushroom buff to polish all 4 wheels 3 times now, still going strong.
