Just curious, would a sharpie perminant marker damage microfiber towells? I ask because I like to have one or two MF towells for drying most of the car, another one for picking up smaller amounts of water, another for windows, another for the dashboard and interior stuff, another for wiping polish off, and another for wiping wax off.....know what i mean?

Sorta hard trying to remember what towell is for what.....so if i labled them would it be OK?

I`ve marked mf`s with a permanent marker, and have never had any issues as a result.

You could do what I and a lot of other Autopians do....buy different colored MFs for different jobs. Ranney @ PakShak has several colors to choose from. Of course if you already have a good supply, the sharpie may be more feasabile.
