I notice on some of the pictures posted that the brake calipers look great.

Is it acceptable to use wax on these given the heat that may be generated?

    Thanks

The heat will probably kill the wax on the first couple of breaks. I had my car running hard after the rain, and it still was steaming from the left over water after parking it in the garage.
