quick question. Apply glaze(#7) over wax(p21s) or wax over glaze? Does it matter? I know glaze is only very temporary. Just wondering if it makes a difference under or over wax.

    Thanks

You`ll want to put #7 on first and then follow with the P21. That makes for a nice combination as long as the surface has been properly prepped. #7 doesn`t add any protection but it adds nice depth and gloss.

I already have p21s on the car. Wondering if by adding #7 would it give me any more depth on top of the wax or would it be necessary to remove the p21s and start with the glaze. Also would multiple coats of #7 give me any more depth than just one coat? At what point do you reach the "pinnacle" with #7? Two coats? Four coats?

This is single stage orignal paint 68 Plymouth.

Paint is clayed, polished and looking good. Just want to see how good it can get!

Here`s an old pic with nothing special on it:

I thought that you can glaze over wax for "showcar" situations, to get that depth and richness with the understanding that it`s going to be gone very soon. You are supposed to wax over glaze to "seal" it in, but I think I quick layer will look good for those few days until it gets weathered off.

Is it possible to remove JUST the wax layer without removing any layers of other stuff you`ve applied underneath? If so, how?

    BACK FROM THE DEAD....

This post is perfect for my situation since i alrady have a coat of S100 on the car and would like to add some glaze to it without having to strip it. Can I do that? CAn I add either RMG or #7 ovewr the S100 and then add the wax again?

#7 can be difficult to remove so it probably isn`t the best choice-RMG or Mothers Sealer Glaze over the S100 should work-theoretically it should soak into the wax layer a bit then reapply another coat of S100

It matters a lot. Nothing should go over a pure carnauba (if that is what you are using. If it is a synthetic, it may matter less.) except a mild or neutral quick detailer, especially one that is formulated to be compatible with carnauba wax.

While I wouldn`t put glaze over a wax, and just advised against #7 on top of wax on another thread, *IIRC* Mother`s glaze is supposed to work as a temporary beauty treatment on top of wax. That`s just from memory, so you might want to check with the folks at the Mother`s website.

You should try it out sleeper, the glaze wont rid your car of the wax you have on it already as it has no cleaners or abrasives, wipe off the glaze and apply a wax. If it looks good on your paint, great! If not, at least now you know.

Yeah, you should be able to do it fine. I`ve glazed over a wax when I wanted to show off, but I`ve never waxed over it again. No reason it shouldn`t work though, as long as its a non-cleaner wax.
