Just washed with Dawn, then put Mothers Cleaner Carnuba wax and surface is still rough.

I now would like to claybar the car and re-wax with Klasse Ain1 and their SG.

What can I use to remove the wax?

    Any suggestions team?

Probably going to put it on with PC 7424 polisher.

Any number of ways. If you want to remove the wax before you claybar, you could use a 50/50 IPA solution. You could also Dawn wash I suppose but i`m not a big fan of that now.

If you`re going to claybar first, AIO should remove the wax itself.
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

AIO will remove the wax. Just wash with normal car wash soap, clay, AIO, and SG. That`s all you need to do and in that order.

I`m confused, (sorry) If I`m doing that sequence, wash clay etc, am I not running the clay over the carnuba wax that in theory, has the contaminants and crap that causes the rough surface, below it? Thus not touching or gathering the contaminants at all because the carnuba wax is sitting on top?

Have I missed something? (or just am so much a rookie that I get confused easily!? lol)

thanks for the 411, pls advise.

I don`t think it will hurt to incorporate the IPA mix in that regimen. At minimum it will be an additional step. Maybe wash,IPA mix, to futher break down the wax, clay, AIO, SG

Although I would normally wash, clay, wash, IPA mix, then polish or just AIO and SG
Treat it like it`s the only one in the world.

The clay will rip through the wax layer and pick up the contamination. Wax isn`t that hard/protective. Try claying one panel, you`ll see what I`m talking about.

I love that wax. I think it out shines any of the polymers (Zaino, Klasse etc.) If the surface isn`t smooth that`s not the wax`s fault. Why don`t you use the clay and then re-wax with the Mother`s?

Outshine Klasse or Zaino? Thats something new. I only use mothers cleaner wax when I am in a tight squeeze or i use it on the shower walls(fiberglass) to help keep the mold from building up.

"wash with normal car wash soap, clay, AIO, and SG"

That`s the way I`m going. Looks like (almost) a consensus.

Clay then AIO will get all the contaminants off then re-wax.

..."Mothers outshining Zaino and Klasse".... (don`t know about that one!)

    Thanks for all the input.
