I recently installed new rear seats in my 1996 Nissan Maxima. They are black leather seats, out of a 1999 Maxima. They were in decent condition, not yet dry, yet clearly on the way there. I used Meguiar`s Rich Leather conditioner for 2 weeks, only so that I could do an extensive cleaning without drying them.
That time has come, and today was the day. I began by using Soft Scrub (w/ Orange) to clean the seats. It did a very good job, and proved to remove a lot of hidden dirt. After that I applied a coating of Connoly Hide Food and turned my car`s heat on and left it for 20 minutes. I come back in 20 minutes and to my suprise the seats are completely dry again. I repeated this twice (the last time rubbing it in by hand), and while the seats do seem to look excellent, they do not feel very supple. For those that understand, the leather is soft, yet not supple.
What am I doing wrong / what other steps should I take to perfect my leather?
Thanks,
-Cyrus
