Need Help - I messed up...

Hi all! First post here, but been hanging around for a little while.



Well what it comes down to is I messed up on my car. I used a rotary buffer on it (thought I was ready) and now I have "ghost" marks. I tried to keep the pad as flat as possible but didn`t seem to work out for me.

My question is...can I fix this problem by hand now? I don`t have a PC yet, so all I have left is my hands. I do have a bunch of products so maybe someone could tell me what they have had luck with in the past.

I didn`t burn the paint anywhere it has marks and haze under a light at night. Please help if you can.

You can try Meguiar`s DACP #83 applied by hand. You will need to use a tightly rolled terry towel to apply it. Use a single direction (front to back) to apply and and continue your rubbing until the product begins to dissapate.

If you should get the PC to fix your problem, use the DACP with the polishing pad and work it good and again until it just starts to dissipate and then remove. You can usually follow that with the wax/sealant of your choice. I have seen that Meguiar`s NXT Tech Wax looks pretty good as a follow up and topped with #16 or Natty`s.

What do you mean by "ghost marks"? Holographic 3D swirls? In most cases, when polishes/glazes weren`t broken down or worked thoroughly, these holograms come out, and they`re hard to remove after you layered something on top of it.



I suggest you grab a moderately strong cleaner wax such as 3M Medium Oxidation Remover, or any one of those consumer line paint cleaning products and use as directed. Try it on a small spot, if it helps, keep at it, if not, move up to a silicone free polish.

Good news! I think it turned out ok for now till i get my pc (ordered as we speak)
