Any good metal polishing tips you can pass on to a fellow Autopian ?

When the cloth turns black, do I switch cloths or just keep polishing ?

Any preferred product. I love the results Mother Billett Polish gives but it does take a bit more grunt and it`s not very economical in terms of usage.

My current technique on my wheels is to use Never Dull and give it a once over. Then I take a old scrap cotton shirt, and wipe off the oxidation. I then go over the wheels once more with the same piece of Never Dull and wipe off the oxidation. I follow up with Mother Billett. It takes a bit more work with the Billett Polish- I may end up using 2 more scrap pieces of cloth as the oxidation get`s on the cloth but then the wheels are mint.

Is this the correct technicque ? I like the cotton cloth like Never dull/Luster Lace when polishing however. Due to the texture...it seems to give me better control than a scrap cotten T shirt cloths.

After polishing, I follow up with some AIO/SG . However, due to the design of the deep dish wheels.....water tends to sit on the bottom of them when it rains. I find myself constantly fighting with waterspots and end up polishing the SG more than I want to.

I apply Billet Polish with a blue rubber nitrile glove (no cloth), and polish with the glove.

Then, I remove the residue with a microfiber towel.

Trust me, there is no miracle product for aluminum - anything that truly polishes the metal will require effort - a spry on/hose off product will not polish aluminum.

Latex gloves may be dissolved by some of the chemicals in aluminum polish - I`d stick with the nitrile gloves.
