    Hi,

As you know being in the middle of the Pacific Ocean has it`s advantages and disadvantages. One of the major pitfalls living in Hawaii is shipping costs of products to Hawaii. Most online vendors will only ship to Hawaii via UPS or Fedex 2nd Day Air which can sometimes cost more than the products itself.

Well, here is the favor I need to ask from one Autopia member to another.

Can anyone purchase QEW locally and ship it to me in Honolulu, HI. I am looking at 2 to 3 gallons of QEW. I believe if it is sold locally it could cost somewhere between $34 to $37 per gallon.

Please PM or email me and we can work out a deal.

    With Aloha,

Thats the exact question i was thinking about asking. Why are the choices for shipping options limited to UPS only? When ive made orders to CMA long before they used to ship via USPS and now theyve made the change to UPS.Other sponsors ive noticed also have UPS/FedEx as their only method of shipping.

Sometimes I will feel the need to order products online for example FI,FD,etc..since we cant get them in bulk over here in Hawaii so our only option would be to order online.I cant see any justification using UPS/FedEx as the only method of shipping available since paying $26 or more on shipping alone for just a couple of products not available locally is quite steep.

Sorry for the rant. Its just frustrating that we have to pay more for shipping alone than products.

Ranney we run into the same up here from the US .. If they don`t ship USPS and prefer UPS etc the shipping/ customs surcharge maked the purchase out of the question.

More detail suppliers need to get on board with USPS especially on lighter weight products. UPS still takes 5 days and when your waxing a car .. 10 days doesn`t usually matter.

Example a $20 bottle of wax the UPS to here is close to $15 and they have a $16 customs surcharge. .. Mail is closer to $7 total.

They like UPS/FedX cuz they come to the door.

Ranney-American RV had only one gallon in stock and it will be a week until they can get in another one. They did have a couple of quart sized bottles though.

Too bad you have to go through such hassles to get detailing products.

Ranney-I asked them about shipping and they didn`t seem to eager to do that. :nixweiss

Oh well, I guess you can deal with the disappointment by taking a swim in the ocean or hooking up with a hula girl. :up
