Question about body shops

well it looks like i will soon have to take my car into a body shop



first of all, i have a big dent in the back, by the tailight (which is also busted), due to my car sliding down a hill (forgot to put it in park.. oops). 3 shops quoted me at around 700, so looks like that`s what it will be.

secondly, we had a huge ice storm here in oregon, and in one place which has been repainted before (about 3"x3" area), the paint chipped off after that storm. the primer is stillthere, in perfect condition. that will probably be another 200 .





i was reading an article on bettercarcare.com about body shops. it said to NEVER pay with cash or check. is there a specific reason? i can put all of this on my parents credit card and just pay that off, that`s not a problem. just wondering WHY exactly it`s recomended to use a CC rather than check at a body shop...

You`ll have recourse thru the CC company.Visa can withhold payment to them until the `dispute` is resolved.



You can`t get your cash back.
