What is the best way to clean the pads?

    Also,

I want to use my PC7336 this weekend, but was wondering... if I start with DACP with the yellow polishing pad, if I clean it, can I use it with the #9 ? I only have one polishing pad, I don`t think it will make a difference right? This is just until my other pads come in.

    Thanks

Watch this Clip from Meguiar`s website.Power Polishing Clinic

Barry Meguiar said you should not use 1 pad for 2 different products.

You are only suppose to use one pad per product you are not suppoes to mix them. As far as washing Meguiars will tell you to tap the pad on your hand to loosen the grime and that is all you need to do.

I have many meguiars pads and I sure would like a better way to clean them not sure I belive meguars about not cleaning them.

I can understand that if you just tap them it wouldn`t be good to use more than one product, but if you use soap and water and wring it out, why can`t you use two different polishes?

good question and something I have wanted answered my self... I did call meguiars tonight they told me to soak them in a bucket of water and squeeze all the extra product out. Then let them dry and use a stiff brush on the surface of the pad, not sure why but thats what they said. Told me never put them in the washing machine... Sorry still doesn`t answer your question.

I believe that you can use different products on a pad IF you wash inbetween. Now some guys have tons of foam pads, and can dedicate each pad to each polish they have and keep them in their own little bag and everything. I don`t have the luxury of having that many pads, and I don`t think it it necessary to.

As long as you wash the pads with soap and water and get them mostly dry (some products prefer a moist applicator anyway) you can use many different compounds or polishes.

What you do NOT want to do is use DACP, then go straight to #9 without washing the pad first. I think that is what most people mean when they say that you should not use two products on the same pad.:xyxthumbs

I washed two of my meguiars 6.5" pads one I was able to rinse clean with warm water and the other (Finishing Pad) I had to use a little dawn dish washing soap to get the wax out but they are clean and look good. They are just air drying now.

They should be quite clean, now...

I squeeze dry the pad, apply it to the PC, hold it in a bucket, and spin dry. On #6 for about 30 seconds, and you can use the pad right away.
