I`m a little confused on Meguiar`s quick detail sprays..

There is their "Quick Detailer" in the maroon bottle, consumer line.

And there`s the #34 "Final Inspection" in the beige bottle, mirror glaze professional line.

I now own both of the above.

But what the heck is "Final Detail"? I couldn`t find it on the Meguiar`s product guide on their website... unless I`m blind? :nixweiss

    Thanks!

The #34 contains some silicones, one of my buddies from Autopia purchased a gallon from a body shop and he found out too late; they gave him a hassle and wouldn`t let him return it.

I`d prefer to go with the Quick Detailer unless your using wax.

    Hi Inzane,

Meguiar`s Final Detail can only be bought in 1 gallon or 5 gallon containers.

    Here are the part numbers.

    1 gallon - p/n D-5101

    5 gallon - p/n D-5105

Yes, you are correct it is not shown on their website or consumer catalog. You will need to contact your local Meguiar`s distributor or reseller and have them order it for you.

    With Aloha,

There has been a ton of discussion threads lately on FD. Do a search and you will find them. I just ordered a gallon at www.properautocare.com for $17. Can`t wait to try this stuff.

Sorry guys, the correct site is www.premiumautocare.com

Its #51 and why the worry about the silicones??

I was sent a sample of #51 .. really like it .. great slippery gloss.. BUT .. doesn`t like cold weather application .. Better gloss than Showtime or Megs QD

Here`s another site where I found FD, I think at reasonable prices:

    http://www.autobodydepot.net

They have both the 1 and FIVE gallon sizes

I`m confused about this final inspection thing.

I just read above that it contains silicone.

This is taken from jimwh Klasse Instructions on the Hall of Fame Page:

You will also need some no-wax/no-silicone detailing spray, such as Meguiar`s Final Inspection for $6. This is used in between Sealant Glaze layers. If your wallet doesn`t mind, also get some Eimann Fabrik Clear Pearl Instant Detail Spray for $15. This contains carnauba, so you`d only use this after you`ve finished your Klasse treatment. Using it between Klasse SG layers may cause problems with bonding. Since it contains wax, it will help rejuvenate your wax (or if you don`t add a layer of Biltz on top, it just richens the shine that the Klasse gives).

Someone please chime in and let us know what Final Inspection actually contains!! :wavey

You guys need to read the Meguiar`s labels a little better.

#34 Final Inspection is paint shop safe and doesn`t have silicones.

The Maroon bottle is Quik Detailer. Note that Quik has no "c" in it.

#66 Quick Detailer with the "c" in Quick is a fairly aggressive cleaner/wax.

#51 Final Detail has silicones, but unless you are using it in a body shop environment, who cares. It is one of the better shine enhancing products on the market. Economical, too.

Any of them will do a decent job. Plus about 100 others.

    Big Thank-You CharlesW!!!!

    That is what I thought.

I don`t have any of the Final Inspection but was just going on my memory from reading the posts.

By the way I think that FI stuff is kindy of spendy.

    Gotta love this place.:xyxthumbs

#34 and Quik Detailer smell the same. Are they the same?

    I have:

    Mother`s QD (nice)

Griot`s Speed Shine (as good as Final Detail, IMO)

    Final Detail (really nice)

    Quik Detail (OK)

Pinnacle Crystal Mist (as good as Final Detail, IMO)

    #34 Final Inspection (OK)

Sonus (for use with Klasse, nice)

I have enough quick detailers to last the rest of my life, I think. The Griot`s is underrated. To me, it seems like Final Detail, but in a different color and odor. And, it`s pretty cheap if you buy it by the gallon.

When I got rid of the last of my Quik Detailer I poured some in a cup and compared in to FI. The Quik detailer is bluish in color and the FI is pink (so is FD) Other than color, I think the only other difference between the Quik Detailer and FI is that FI is body shop safe.

I`m pretty sure that Mike Phillips once said that #34 and Quik Detailer were not he same. That`s good enough for me.

Interestingly enough, I think Mike`s choice of QD`s for his own use is Final Detail.

I care! I got Final Inspection because I need a non-silicone QD on my Zaino (and, I`m guessing, on my SG).
