The Ultimate Shine??

Hi guys,

I know this has probably been asked 1000times over but i want the PERFECT shine on my car. The colour can be seen on my avtar.

Many people say that Carnauba doesnt last long and its not that shiny. Others say that polymer sealants are best others say polymer sealants with carnauba on top. Im real really confused.

At the end i splashed out and bought the following

PC 7424

Pinnacle clay kit

Menzerna intensive polish

Menzerna final polish

Megs #7 glaze

Black fire all paint protection

Liquid souveran

Will the above products give me the perfect finish/shine? If not, what sould i use????

Gez, You might have to go to DACP for the tougher swirl marks that MIP & MFP won`t handle. I redid my hood with DACP after MIP & MFP, then finished that off with 3M final-something-or-other (name escapes me right now). The latter removed 95% of the swirls MIP & MFP left the first time.......

Yes its a Nissan Skyline R34 GTR that i bought in Japan. It has had a large amount of engine work and pushes approximatley 650BHP. Its the fastest thing i have ever driven.

Apparently its quite hard to get a skyline in the US and the ones you can get cost a LOT more than what we pay for them over here which is a shame as its a really nice car.

There are no Skylines in North America

Skylines are imported in to North America by a company named Motorex. To my knowledge, they are the only importers, and they do the modifications to make them US DOT compliant. Price is somewhere around $90,000 US.

Back on topic, I think with the products you have, you should be able to make your really nice car even more stunning. But I think the perfect shine is almost unattainable, as you, the owner, will always know your car`s flaws. Atleast I`m that way. There is always something, no matter how minor, that I can do to make my car look better. This would be especially true if you ever drive it (and with a car like that, I`d really have to drive it!).

If you don`t mind me asking, how much does a Skyline go for in England? Is it that much of a difference?

Skylines are going for good money now in the UK. As they were never made for the uK market they have all been imported. I bought mine for $41600 with all the taxes, import duties and type approval paid for. This is a LOT cheaper than what they go for in the US but i have heard that your DOT compliancy is nasty to say the least.
