Using a foam polishing pad from 3M, at 1500-1800 RPM, moving slowly to heat the chemical, i have not been able to remove swirls, especially on door panels, where each pass doesnt change much from the former.

I have to admit that my girlfriend`s car has a LOT of orange peel to it, could it interfere in swirl removal ?

I buff in checkerboard, and do 2x2 areas at a time, so now im thinking, changing to a more agressive product i.e. 3M`s fine cut, or using a compounding pad, but i think it`d be more reasonable to take it up a notch in product.

Well, look like a switch to Megs DACP and a cutting pad, then return to the PIII-MG on a polish pad.

Deanski, but, i don`t understand, it should be an excellent swirl remover though.......i`m a bit disapointed in it actually.........and it`s actuallly supposed to have more bite than the old 39009

As i said could it be cause my gf`s ride has a lot of orange peel that swirls won`t come out ?

What kinda finish does DACP leaves behind ?

Have you used the 3m`s 5937 ? and if so, what`s the upshot ?

    best regards Deanski:xyxthumbs

ever used the 5937 ? i couldnt remove all swirls with it, using a rotary, where others say it s great, now i wonder.

Do you guys check it under sun light to see if there s any remaining swirls ? As to me i did......sun light isnt forgiving i must say.........each and every time there was hair line scratches/swirls..............ge swirls can`t be that deep in the finish lol

    Chip,

Did you use a cutting pad with the rotary? That should have removed the swirls.

PIII-MG does remove swilrs, but not heavy ones, somewhat light swirls, and with a rotary, it most definitley should have. I`d go to the cutting pad next, if they still exist, time for DACP.

Deanski, nope, i used a polishing pad with the 5937, but i guess i`ll have to move to a compounding pad...............yet what kind of finish does it leave behind using the 5937 and a compounding pad ? Is the gloss the same or kind of sedate ?

thanks for the tip btw, i appreciate it buddy:xyxthumbs

    Hi Chip,

I now have both 5937 and DACP. I used the MG on my white car which did have some swirls, far as I can tell all gone, I have flourescents in my garage, can`t see them or in sunlight, finish isn`t yet perfect but I like the 05937 and I bet I`ll really like the DACP. This was all using my PC.

Still struggle with those light scratches though.
