Hi all, my local 3M distributor, told me that a lot of people spritz their pad prior to buffing, saying it helps them polish better. He then told me that 3m insist notto use any water with their products, he said that with other brands it might be fine but not with 3M............the thing is on the bottle of the 5937 it says to use a quater size amount for a 2x2 area. But if i put a quarter size amount on the hood or any area for that matter, with a dry pad(not spritzed with water), the pad actually sucks it in and no or close to no plish is left to polish to use on the surface. Ive tried doin the same but prior to it, i soaked the pad in water, wrung it out, and did the same........this time since the pad was still wet, it didnt absorb all of the polish..................so this leads me to think that, either the guy from 3M does a smaller area with a quarter size drop, or he buffs dry.....................have any of you found the same, or is it just me ?

    thanks

I shoot my pads with a spritz of Eagle One Wipe n Shine, draw

a couple of lines of product (polish) on the pad and go to town.

    No problems here.:xyxthumbs

The instructions you mention sound more like they`re for hand

application, rather than a PC. A quarter size on a 7.5" pad? Naaah....

I think it was either David`s video on using a rotary, or the meguiars video.. that said to "load the pad" when first starting.. put a line down on the panel, spread it with the pad, turn it on for a few seconds, consider the pad loaded and then you`re at a starting point. I do that, works fine. I won`t start with a pad with any water in it anymore... the sling problems were enormous. Still finding and cleaning up spatters.. lol..
