help! can`t get stain on fender off.

First post! I did the search as well.

While washing my WRX today, i noticed a pea-sized splatter of a black to brown substance stained on the front fender(plastic, clearcoated). Can`t tell if it`s oil or tar or bug residue. It`s as if the stain was a part of the clearcoat. The surface of it is completely smooth. It is quite noticable.

I tried soaking some turtlewax bug and tar remover, and some goo gone with no success. In fact, none of it seemed to be removed.

Anyone know of a good product or technique?

Try Claybar first.

If no luck, you can use some light cut polish, but be gentle.

I have the same exact dilemma, it started out bad, but with a claybar and polish, I was able to dramatically reduce its visibility. But, it IS still there and you can only see it in direct sunlight. Some bird must have had some bad tacos or something? I`ve gotta just deal with it now, luckily its the `Yota not the Cobra.
