I currently use Autoglym products which fall into my budget fine and also available locally.

My car is old, the paintwork is tired (thought cleans up well, lots of scratches and chips) and is an everyday/fast-road thrash-about, I cant really warrent a big budget on cleaning products.

Anyway was wondering if the autoglym stuff is a good choice, or there is anything else similarly priced I should try ?

nickr- Welcome to Autopia. NOT knowing what`s available over there across the pond, I find Autoglym stuff just great for daily drivers/"thrash about" vehicles. I really like Super Resin Polish!

If you can get Meguiar`s or 3M stuff, you will probably find it less expensive tha Autoglym. Meg`s #16 wax works GREAT over SRP and 3M has some great polishes/compounds. And plenty of people like One Grand brand products.

There is a number of threads describing whats available in England. If your going to try Meguiar`s, the best products are in the pro range, stay away from the more normal lines.

Autoglym produces some good products, you will need to get as many MF towels as you can plus some good foam pads to apply polish etc.

Do a search on Dr OK Wack or Wack and this should help. There are a number of Brits here who can probably give you more help
