meg`s quick detailer or quick wax for engine bay ?

Which would be best meg`s quick detailer or quick wax ? I have had wind that their quick detailer is an agressive stuff, wonder if that is true.

I have no other choice than to resort to spray wax, as it s nearly impossible to go their by hand.........i mean getting all the spots that is........and being the meticulous guy that i am, i Got to get all the spots, and recessed areas

    take care

Okay, before you go on, check out this thread http://www.autopia.org/forums/showth...r+wax+meguiars

#66 Quick Detailer is an aggressive cleaner wax.

Retail Quik Detailer is a plain QD....

They are really really different! Which do you mean?

4DSC, btw holy toledo !! 4646 post, that`s astonishing, my mind boggles at it lol......you prolly are someone to be trusted here, and that`s obvious to see why, whith that many postings.

About the QD, i meant retail QD (megs). Yet i`m troubled her, as someone told me, wax will not last there(engine compartment) owingto the heat, what do you think ? ( im not looking down on that person`s advice, just that im looking for that best thing to be put under the hood).

p.s.ill now go and browse that link you provided me with....thx btw.

Both, QD first then Quick Wax. If you read the labels, QD will clean, and QW will offer a very small amount of protection. (From Quik Wax bottle, must apply to clean surface.)

For the tight areas, ever try a towel on a stick? Just get a really long kitchen spon and then wrapp a long towel around it and tie it off. Should let you work into the tight spots.

    BOTH!

    I agree with Jason.

Clean with QD, the Wax with QW.

I usually devote about a half hour per week to doing this and my engine bay sparkles.

All i can say looking at your engine is WOW.....some real nice looking engine compartment you got there.

Come to think of it, do you use qd and qw only on painted surfaces ?

I use QD for the entire engine bay.

But after cleaning, I use tire dressing on all rubber and plastic surfaces. I wipe off the excess so it doesn`t get "gummy" and it leaves a nice black satin finish.

It never seems to get dirty enough to warrant using a "cleaner". I guess if I drove in very dusty or rainy conditions, I may use a cleaner for that purpose.

Well the post count doesn`t really mean much other than the fact that I have no life! :lol There are many people here who know more about detailing than I do, but have fewer post count. Am I trustworthy? Sure, I`m not going to lie to you, but that doesn`t mean I am always right...

Every time i wash i use 3M Gloss Enhancer on the underside of the hood to remove grease after drying. It`s quite an easy area to clean. I tryed using Omikron bodyguard there and on the inside of doors and jambs and after over a year it`s still there. If i don`t wipe the hood area every wash, the car gets rust spots. As to my engine bay detailing, i don`t do much as it`s a daily driven car and i`m not into car shows so just lubricate the rubber seals with baby oil and black plastic bits with valvoline aerosol tyre shine.
Car care/detailing sadly isn`t high on the agenda for 98% of australians.

I`m guessing he didn`t get any added HP from the stickers, the car looks to be GM. Stickers only add HP to "Certain" makes of cars...LOL .. BTW, Luster, it looks CLEAN.
