Which one-step product does not stain or minimally stain plastic or vinyl trim? I`ve tried Meguiars and Mothers and both do stain. I`d like to avoid mail order if possible. Thanks.

The only one I know is AIO. Not much protection, but will not stain trim.

Most of the one steps will stain because of the cleaners. Non-cleaner waxes will not stain trim.

tcmo- Welcome to Autopia! I`m afraid you`re sorta stuck with SOME mailordering. One-step products that don`t stain trim are not commonly available in stores.

Yes, AIO is THE safe answer here. It CAN depend on the trim, I`ve used Autoglym`s SRP on some trim with no problems (don`t let it dry before buffing) but others have had staining from it.

Another sorta-one-step product that`s worked well in this application is VM.

Why not bite the bullet and do a two-step process? Throw a quick, easy coat of PUPP or BFII on after the AIO and you won`t have to worry about it again for quite a while.

The secret to getting a product that doesn`t stain trim is to get one that doesn`t have fillers in it. AIO is the perfect answer for that. The Platinum and Blackfire pre cleaner don`t stain the trim either. AIO would be my choice though.
