Can I use a white CMA pad with DACP?

I`m new to DACP and am a little nervous about using it on my 2 year old paint job on my VW with a yellow CMA pad.

I have major spider web swirls, rain spots and a couple minor defects.

I plan on following with #9.

I think the #9 MAY do the job, but I want to try the DACP.

Will the white pad work alright with DACP?? I want to be gentle.

Please let me know how you guys work with DACP - what kind of paint condition, pads used, experiences etc...

Searches on the forum, if you believe it, are not helping.

    Thanks.

you should use the yellow pad with dacp. With the white pad, you wont` get as much cut. Just remember, the pc is a dual action polisher, it doesn`t really generate that much heat even on speed 6. Using the yellow pad would be more beneficial with dacp, probably get at the swirls more than with the white pad. If you want to follow with a polish like #9 with the white pad after, thats fine, but use the yellow for dacp.

g2 your local painter supply shop or body shop, and they should have dacp in quarts. Expect to pay about 18 bucks for a quart(32 oz). Btw, g2 www.meguiars.com and look at the professional products and read up on dual action cleaner polish, its #83 on the professional line i believe.

If you have heavy spider webbing, the white pad is probably not aggressive enough, but you can give it a go and see how it turns out. Your best bet, though, is as Abercrombie suggested, which is to go to a yellow polishing pad, or even a cutting pad, depending on how effective the yellow pad is.

I`m gonna have to disagree with what`s been said so far. I prefer the polishing pad because it gives almost the same cut but it leaves me with a much nicer finish. I, personally, would use the DACP with the white CMA pad and would be surprised if you saw much difference after the #9.

Try the least abrasive combo first, then go more abrasive. See which one works better in your situation.

Thanks guys. I`ll try the yellow and follow with #9 with a white pad. I only have so many pads and cant try many combinations at once. In fact, my father wants me to do his car so I`ll experiment on it. It`s in pretty poor shape so I`ll get some good practice.

I have used DACP with a white pad on heavy spider web and it did not do much. I have used the orange pad and got much better results, but still did not remove all of the webbing. You might want to start with the orange and see if it clears it up for you then move on to the yellow. IMO white is just a waste of time, its only good for final polishing with #9.

    ^^^^^agree^^^^^

I used DACP with a light cut pad with no effect on my hood with swirls via rotary.

Then I used a medium cut with the DACP and it took two passes (on speed 6)

Then I followed with the light cut and #9 and the finish was ready for AIO/SG.

DACP isn`t as abrasive as people think, it`s more of a medium cut polish IMO.

Eddie, don`t want to discourage you, but the initial question is about two years old.

BTW, I agree with your advice.
