Anybody else feel the pain for the black Ford Focus in the ad were the "anal" guy starts out by dry wiping something off the hood, then drives around town avoiding every little bbit of water, just to jump on the hood to avoid wiper spray srom a car in front?

    :scared :scared

I started laughing out loud when I saw it (thinking, "that guy just completely trashed the paint on the hood of the car, to avaoid a little water spray!).

My wife didn`t find the irony / humor that I saw. Last ride in the black Mustang for her!!!:argue

LOL, I cringe everytime I see that ad. I can`t believe that that guy would do that!!! Now we`re going to be seeing a bunch of people avoiding water and jumping on their hoods! Great!!! Just not mine!

(not that I should care, I have a black CRX and swirls galore and a metallic black painted hood and regular black on the rest of the car...and no PC. I have an arm and a bottle of scratchX...as I remember, scottwax had an amazing arm, so maybe I`ll be like that some day.)

As steep as the Focus hood is, wouldn`t he just slide off? Or leave a dent, then slide off?

What`s wrong with avoiding puddles? I do it. I`m not stupid enough to jump onto my hood though, I`d probably just back the car up (if there aren`t any cars behind me). One thing I did notice was that the Focus was swirl free.

I`m starting to get the feeling that there`s not to much love for the Focus on this forum---especially in Texas.

ford focus sucks bc its fords worst creation of the 4 bangers. Their best 4 cylinder engines were when they had the mazda 1.9 in the early 90s. Those engines lasted a long time, and you never had trouble with them. The only thing i dont` like is they are overrated, , and the svt model isn`t that much quicker then the honda civic si(lets compare gas mileage too, 21/25 city, hw mpg and 26/30 for the si).

I roll my eyes every time I see that commercial - he will avoid water puddles but dive onto the hood (putting a big dent and swirls/scratches on it) to avoid a little windshield washing fluid!

More realistic is the VW commercial where the shopping cart is rolling toward a parked silver Jetta and the guy tackles the cart before it hits his car! Although why would anyone park their nice Jetta right by the supermarket door is beyond me! :p

but if it was an SVT Focus, then we are talking here... those little guys are pretty sweet... handle great... but on a run of the mill Focus.. I agree, who cares...
