Dilution Ratios

I recently started my own detailing business in my 2 car heated garage. When diluting down products such as APC or something. This is my thinking of how to do it, please jump in and correct me if you see any flaws in it



When diluting down an APC to 3:1 example, this is how I see it. Whatever the amount of fl. oz the spray bottle can hold is how you can determine and divide that # of fl.oz by thirds, hence, a 3:1mix. Which would total 4 parts total product in the bottle. Check it out below. I`m trying to explain this the best I can without making it any harder than what it already is



Ok a 22ox spray bottle for example. You take 22oz. and divide it by 3. Which in this case is 7.33............... Then you take um,,,,,,crap,,,,,,Someone please help me out here. I am truely lost. Tks everyone,,,,,91

Divide the 22 ounces by 4 which would be 5.5 oz. To get a 3:1 ratio you would need 16.5 (i.e. 5.5 X 3) oz to 5.5 oz.

You want it to be 3 parts water to 1 part cleaner right? This means that you have a total of 4 equal sized parts.



Divide 22 by 4 and you get 5.5 oz like RIC said. 5.5 x 3 (3 parts water) is 16.5 oz, to 5.5 oz (1 part cleaner)



I bought some bottles at Lowe`s for 97 cents each (32 oz) that have 5:1, 3:1 and 1:1 lines, as well as markings in ounces and liters. They`re pretty handy.

I just use kitchen measuring cups... 1 part this 10 part that... then pour it into my spray bottle... makes life a lot easier...

just get bottles that already have the dilution ratios on them
