Ok, I did not know all of this mattered so much until reading around here. I have a PC polisher with a velcro 5" backing plate but I am using Griot`s 6" pads. Would it be better for me to find a 6" velcro backing plate and 6" counter weight? Or am I fine using what I got? Thanks!

matching the counterweight, backing plate and pads is intended to reduce the vibration.

Your backing plate is fine, and don`t worry too much about the pad size unless you`re looking at the really big 8" ones. A 6" counterweight may make the PC run smoother at high speeds, but it isn`t an absolute necessity.
