Just wondering what the PC product number is for the hook and loop backing pad for the 7424 is. I`m looking at picking up a 7424 and thought I`d ask. Or do you recommend the Meguiars`s backing pad?

I also found a great place to get Meguiars products from.... Acklands Grainger (for us canadians). What ever they don`t have in stock, they can order in within a couple days to a week. Open up a cash account and save some $$$.

The Hook pad is actually the #18001 sanding pad with Velcro face and it is available from Coastal Tool on the Web for $15.00. I use the Groit`s thin Orange and Red Pads with it. I also have the CMA set up. I may catch hell from other members but I think the Groit`s Pads work a lot easire then the CMA set up

If you haven`t read some of the back & forth in this thread yet, here you go: http://www.autopia.org/forums/showth...threadid=20290

A few people have had trouble with their Megs backing pads, but it`s the one I`d pick since it`s also simpler to get and lighter.

The part number on the back of my Porter Cable hook & loop pad is 18002. Coastal Tool has a lot of PC info on their site.
