i`m leaving tommorw morning for vacation for a week (about time) however on the way home tonight as i was leaving the garage (it was dark outside, light in the garage) i noticed a bunch of whiteish water spots on the hood of the car (it was raining this morning)...

as its dark outside, and i am packing right now, i have no time to do anything. i don`t have a garage to park in here, so it will be out side for the next week. my car is black, is there anything i could do ? i could QD it, but as there are so many spots on the hood I would haveto QDthe whole entire hood and I don`t have enoug MF towels clear (well i dont have any clean ones!)

IS my best bet to just forget about it until when Iget back, and hope for the best? Idoubt one week would cuase any "long term" damage, right?

Lastly, any idea what this could be? Never seen this many white spots on the hood after rain......

    thanks like always

You ABSOLUTELY want to QD the spots off the hood with a MF towel. Or wash them off with water and a cotton chenille mitt. Leaving spots sit might allow the sun to burn them into the finish causing more serious, sometimes permanent, damage.:nono

It rained mud here in Dallas the other night. We had a lot of wind all week stirring up the dust and then it rained just enough to wash all the dust out of the air and onto everyone`s cars. My car looked unbelievably nasty the next morning and I made it a point to wash it that day. I am with Brad on this, QD the spots off before you leave. Use regular terry cloth towels if you have to.

Quick! Clean the spots with almost any towel... You can deal with a few potential scratches more efficiently than spots that are left in the weather for a week. Sun may well etch the finish.
