Im wondering if Novus #3 heavy scratch remover would be safe to take out scratches on my headlights. Their website says "Not recommended for use on coated plastics". What will happen if I try to apply some on the bigger scratches?

    Mark,

I have used the Novus products (#1 and #2) to take out some scratches on the taillight lenses on my 300ZX. It worked great !!! I can`t confess to the #3 but the lenses that I used it on were plastic and I had no issues at all. Hope it helps some...

Sorry Mark, this is the one I haven`t used either. What the heck is "coated plastic" anyway?

Nevermind, I found it at the Novus site:

Coated Plastics Some plastics are coated with a thin film which may be damaged by the abrasives in the polish. NOVUS No. 2 and No. 3 Polishes are not recommended for use on coated plastics or eyeglass lenses.
Seeing as how people have used No.2 already on tail lights and head lights anyway, I guess it`s safe to use No.3 if the scratches are bad. They don`t seem to be "coated".
